Oh - and Sunday morning Dave, Roger, Dave, Corey, and I tried our hand at the shale trail.  I had to winch once in lower and 3 or 4 times in upper.  And I found the one weak spot on my new bumper when sliding sideways into the woods lodging a tree between my fender and bumper bending it back into the tire - nuts.  Time to get out the hammers again :) or maybe the tin snips....

Great time everyone and s huge thanks to Dave and Sue.

Thanks to Dave, Sue, and everyone who brought and shared food.  My only damage for the day that I found so far is the cut valve stem we fixed in under 5 minutes at camp.

I can speak for the Western Maine group in saying that we all had a great day, and that I really enjoyed the completed Shale Trail.

There are now two jeeps on a 24ft gooseneck behind my truck waiting for me and all I can say is that it is going to be very hard to go to work in the morning. Even though I only have around a half day. Can't wait to see everyone and have some awesome jeeping!

Speaking of last minute things - one of my starter bolts broke off this morning in the GMC so I had to add that to my todo list .  Went fairly smooth - lucked out and it was the one in the outside that goes all the way through so when I started to drill it to tap it out it just turned out the top.  Helps that the engine is completely coated in leaking oil!!

Corey and Aaron, do you guys want to meet up and travel down together?  Aaron you are traveling from Belfast area correct? Are you going to be going through Newport?

What time were you planning on leaving?
I took the extra day off, so I can leave just about anytime. I have just a few things to pack up in the morning.

I think tonight is going to be a late one as well. No matter how much planning I do I still have a lot of last minute things to do.

I'll be coming from Liberty which is a bit inland from Belfast. I would say yes but I'm really not 100% on what time I'm going to be getting out of work. Could be 3 or it could be 5.

Just made some southern style ribs and Jacobs cattle beans on the kamado grill.....emmmm.

I'll be smoking up a Boston butt on Friday for the feed on Saturday - some beans and/or slaw would go great with it hint hint :)

Rockman .. would you mind posting the address or pm'n it to those who need it .. oh like .. me???
203 East Shore rd. Embden. Sometimes the GPS will say it's N. Anson because that's where the post office is. If you look at map 30 in the Atlas you will see Embden Pond at the bottom. The road on the right of the pond is E. Shore rd. Go exactly 1 mi. and my cable gate is on the right.

We'll have a driver's meeting at 9 and start the ride after. Last year we got a late start and finished in the dark and this year we have more trails. Come early if you want to get set up first.
