I can now use 4wd again .. all back together .. just a few minor repairs left ..

ie: grease everything, disconnect pins, new shocks at some point, little paint here and there .. lol

on the way home for the VLLS Seminar in NH TwinkieToo was making a horrible noise and vibrating, I am surprised I made it home

we jacked it up to see if we could find the noise, ended up dropping the rear driveshaft, the ujoints and the centering yoke from the rear cardan were all dry and complete dust

called Tom Woods Customs, they let me know what it was I needed, they support Spicer! ..  bought a new centering yoke and ujoints, installed .. vibrations gone but still squealing

dropped the front .. yup, same thing

after searching for the part and finding that no one carried it, I was able to find it at Denny's Driveshaft with Mike's help.

just waiting for it to come in so we can install it!!

as I stated in a different thread .. my Dana44 arrived right on time but we did not take into affect that the link suspension system on the Jeep was attached to the Dana35 diff cover via the truss (ouch) so I ordered a set of upper adjustable Rubicon control arms and an adjustable track bar for the rear, the truss system will go back in after some research as to what it is I actually need, Mike is pretty sure they used "Rock Krawler" arms but we think that the custom made the truss

once it is all back together we will bring the dana35 home (for parts/or sale) and look into the truss system they used, once I do research the old system will go back in and I will most likely sell all the rubicon adjustable parts i am putting on in the meantime

so hopefully it will be on the road this weekend

Mike, if it is and I bring it to bangor this weekend like planned I will stop in so you can have a look see *grin* .. there is still so much on this thing that we don't even know about yet

so they confirmed D44 w 4.88 gears and an ARB Locker and it is set up with disc brakes

the rear diff is completely new (not sure why it was replaced)

those not on facebook wont know what has been going on, the brand new rear gearing that was installed at some point obviously was not installed correctly .. last weekend after installing new front brake pads, Tim took it for a ride, he never made it home, on the way the rear end grenaded on him .. we had it towed to a garage and they confirmed

so after a few phone calls I found a great deal .. a Dana 44 being custom made with 4.88 (yes, I actually have 4.88 not the 4.56 we thought) and it will come with ARB air lockers to match the front .. Americas Most Wanted 4x4 is doing a custom build for me

it even included disc brakes

for Jeep geeks .. consider it a "plug and play" .. it will just need to be bolted on and connected

I would assume it's a D35 also, just curious if it had been upgraded or not.

while we where there we were looking around and found that it has ABS brakes, heavy duty after market front and rear diff covers, adjustable control arms and there is a speedogear on it (runs true to speed)

the rear diff is completely new (not sure why it was replaced)

and the story behind its purchase .. the vehicle was towed to Maine behind a vehicle (RV), not sure what happened but the Jeep was left parked at a garage for 2 years .. the garage owner claimed abandon vehicle, state of Maine awarded him the title and there you go .. it became MINE

before we left Jim's place we installed the front flat fender flares, the tire stuck out way to far without them, would have hated to throw a rock at my brand new windshield

I decided to go with the VIAIR after talking to Matt at 4WD .. (we are fast becoming friends, even have his cell number) .. lol

I purchased the complete on board air kit, a kit for an extra line (will have a connection in the front and rear bumper) and the digital air gun

set up is sweet and I received a discount of over $80
