Thanks Bill.  Anyone looking for a great Porter check out Founder's at Tradewinds in Brewer.  Very tasty, nice on a cold winter day.

I've seen several posts on my kamado blogs about making cookies on the grill; so I thought I'd give it a try.  Well, just like every thing else that comes off there they are awesome!

Good timing Aaron, she's done.  Just added a little Mesa flour to thicken it up.  Of course over the next day the sirloin will turn into butter.  A little cheddar cheese sprinkled on top and bingo.

Alright, I'm expanding this to include beer, whisky, and cigars.  I had my first New World cigar by A J Fernandez.  About $8 at the Cigar and Smoke shop-real good smoke for the money.  Probably a 7 strength (1-10 scale) with a pretty a tough earthy leather taste.  Also picked up a 6 of Back in Black IPA by 21st Amendment Brewery.  Also very good and recommended.  Finished it while grilling up some pork tenderloin on the Komado grill.  Ahhh.

I'd rather use apple but it's tough to find in big bags.

Do live in Maine? LOL do yourself a favor, go to a couple different apple farms and ask if you can have or buy some of their blown down limbs. you could potentially walk away with enough applewood for a whole season in one trip
What could POSSIBLY go wrong?

Grilling and Smoking
« Reply #1 on: June 17, 2014, 02:06:03 PM »
Feel free to post up if you dig working in the grill.

I invested in a kamado cooker at sams this year.  It is awesome!  I've smoked up ribs and butt, beer can chicken, grilled burgers, dogs, veggies, and steaks.

Today I'm smoking 3 racks of ribs and beans for my sister who is in from Indiana (and the rest of the family).  Made my favorite cola barbecue sauce for dipping.  I smoke with a dry rub only.  The cola sauce is usually made with cocacola for the sugar but I switched it out and used my home made maple syrup instead.  I'm really excited to try it!  It's awesome with cola and I don't know how it can't be better with the syrup.

The beans I am smoking in the kamado also.  Red beans with chili powder, chipotle pepper, onion, worstershire sauce, and the syrup sauce.

I've got the week off,  while all that is smoking away, I'm sipping on a Sam Adams ( sorry beer man) and smoking a perdomo habano cigar.   Ahh, life is good.  :)

Photos are at start and about an hour into my 4-5 hour smoke.

Please share your favorite grilling stuff!
