Very cool.  Liking the square tube.  Where is the head of the bolt that ties your control arm to the frame?  Those H tires are a new tread pattern? Nice looking work.

The tire is 37" BFG off a Hummer

The axle is stretched forward 3 to 4" probably going to set it at 3"

From my understanding, you have to move all of that stuff when you install 2.5 ton drop-in's with double coil-overs.

:D

Don't know what that sound is?  Keep driving. She'll let you know in a minute if it's going to be an issue...

Dana 44HP build update

Photo 1 heating the inner C to install it has a .003 fit and it will be welded.

photo 2 the C's installed and still setting in the jig with the c's set at 18deg's with the pinion at 0 I plan on having the ball joints set at 7deg and the pinion around 11deg not going to weld it till i check it under the Jeep.

Photo 3 is my built in axle seal it will have two o-rings and a grease fit between them to pump grease in.

I still need to mock it up under the Jeep and tack the brackets on then bring it back to the shop to weld everything with the big welder.

You started with a TJ but after you stretch that thing it might be a BJ or maybe a MMJ. Or maybe you really want an XJ. (Just kidding). Looks like an ambitious project, you definitely have a unique Jeep.>

I would like to have an XJ   :-X

I'm still looking at 4 link setups for the back I plan on using 2" sq tubing for the arms

Why square?  Any particular reason?  Easier to bend/work with than the round?

Tough, Cheap, Easy to work with, you can get pre made inserts and most important I already have some ;)

Plan on going with this
http://www.4ws.com/super-88-axle-system-for-ford-8-8-inch.html

Going to setup a different 8.8 and sell the one in mine. going with a 4 link i think. I would like to be 62" wide when it's done.

That's a slick setup Bill.  Have you decided where you're sourcing brackets from?

Any thoughts on your arm-geometry yet?

Still looking but I like the stuff from Ruff stuff. Evo & T&T

I'm still looking at 4 link setups for the back I plan on using 2" sq tubing for the arms

good find, that super 8.8 kit solves everything for $600.

widens it almost 2 inches, ditches the c-clips, gets you alloy shafts, gets you giant wheel bearings, and lets you choose 5x4.5 or 5x5.5.

that's a bargain for all the improvements it makes, and i doubt a 4.0 will ever be able to break that no matter what you do to it.

very nice,

you swapping the 8.8 over to 5x5.5? If so can you just drill in a second bolt pattern in the stock shafts or do you need to order aftermarket guys or are you going to run 5x4.5-5x5.5 adaptor spacers?

going for 60" wms-wms or a little wider?
